The Diaclase Régnié, sourced from the estate’s oldest vines, captures the depth and structure characteristic of high-altitude granite soils. On the nose, it offers a concentrated bouquet of crushed wild strawberries and dark cherries, interwoven with subtle hints of violet and dried orange peel. The palate is dense and velvety, balancing succulent red fruit with a stony mineral backbone that provides remarkable freshness and lift without being sharp. Fine-grained tannins support a long, energetic finish marked by nuanced spice and earth, suggesting a wine that will evolve gracefully for over a decade.
Domaine les Capréoles is situated in the Régnié-Durette commune, the youngest of the ten Beaujolais Crus. Established in its current form in 2014 by Cédric Lecareux, the estate is named after the Latin word for vine tendrils, signaling a philosophy centered on the natural lifecycle of the plant. Lecareux transitioned the historic property to certified organic viticulture, focusing on low yields and parcel-specific vinification to highlight the unique "diaclase" or fractures in the local bedrock. This commitment to terroir-driven winemaking has quickly positioned the domaine as a leading figure in the modern revival of the region.
