The estate’s history is deeply rooted in the Lynch family, Irish merchants who acquired the property in the 18th century and established its reputation for quality. In 1939, Jean-Charles Cazes took over the management, beginning a multi-generational legacy that saw the château rise to prominence as one of the most beloved names in Bordeaux. Under the leadership of Jean-Michel Cazes, the estate became a pioneer in modernizing viticulture and promoting the region globally. Today, the Cazes family continues to innovate, recently completing a massive renovation of the cellar facilities to ensure the winemaking remains at the cutting edge of the Médoc.
