The Domaine des Coteaux de Travers from Marine & Paul Charavin in Rasteau makes ZouZou from 50% Grenache, 40% Syrah and 10% Mourvedre. ZouZou translates to "a jovial, dynamic person who is always fun to be around". This red is lighter and more nimble expression of Rasteau wine using carbonic maceration, and is fermented and aged in concrete vats. Minimal-to-no sulfur is added, and then it is bottled early in order to preserve its naturally fresh fruit. It is full of velvety berry fruit with spice with low tannin, a complete joy to drink.
