Pelaverga is a grape local to the commune of Verduno, in Italy's famed Barolo region. This light, spicy grape is usually chilled slightly by the locals before consuming, and we wouldn't have it any other way. Brambly fruit, some earthy tones, and a ton of charm make this one of our favorite red wines when the temperatures spike.
The Fratelli Alessandria estate is a historic, family-owned winery located in the village of Verduno, one of the northernmost communes in the Barolo DOCG region. The winery has been producing wine since the mid-1800s and is currently run by the fifth generation of the family. They are known for their traditional approach to winemaking, focusing on showcasing the distinct terroir of their various cru holdings, particularly those in Verduno (like their famed Monvigliero vineyard) and Monforte d'Alba (like Gramolere). The family is dedicated to minimal intervention, allowing their Nebbiolo grapes to express purity and elegance characteristic of their specific sites
