The Lano Rocche Massalupo Barbaresco offers a beautiful perfume of high-toned red fruits, specifically wild strawberry, sour cherry, and a hint of crushed mint. The palate displays great depth with flavors of Morello cherry, raspberry compote, licorice, and star anise, all framed by abundant, fine-grained tannins. Its vibrant freshness and concentration make it a powerful and elegant wine with a remarkably long finish that will develop complexity with age.
Azienda Agricola Lano Gianluigi is a family-run estate practicing natural farming in the San Rocco Seno d'Elvio area of Barbaresco, where the Rocche Massalupo cru is situated. Using traditional methods, the Lano family avoids synthetic pesticides, fertilizers, and herbicides in their regeneratively farmed vineyards. Winemaking is minimalist, employing native yeasts and aging the wine in large, older oak barrels for 24 months before bottling without fining or filtering, ensuring the wine is an authentic reflection of its distinct location.
