The Olga Raffault Chinon Rosé is a wonderfully crisp and dry expression of Cabernet Franc from the Loire Valley, built with structure and a distinct mineral character. It displays a delicate pink hue and offers a vibrant bouquet of tart red berries, white peach, and fresh grapefruit, accented by savory herbal notes and a hint of mint. The palate is light-bodied yet remarkably focused, delivering flavors of sharp cranberry, wild strawberry, and cherry, all framed by bright, saline acidity. This rosé is lean, precise, and savory, culminating in a long, clean finish with a pronounced stony, chalky minerality.
Domaine Olga Raffault is a legendary name in the Loire Valley, with a rich history rooted in the Chinon appellation. The estate was initially established by Olga and her husband, Pierre Raffault, in the mid-20th century. Following Pierre's passing in 1947, Olga took the reins and, with the guidance of winemaker Jean Raffault, solidified the domaine's reputation for crafting some of the region's most expressive and age-worthy Cabernet Franc wines. The estate is now managed by the third generation, with Olga's granddaughter Sylvie and her husband Eric continuing the legacy of sustainable farming and traditional winemaking practices that honor the unique terroir of their vineyards along the banks of the Vienne River.
