The Casa Emma Chianti Classico 2022 features a vibrant ruby-red color and an inviting bouquet of ripe red cherry, raspberry, and pomegranate, accented by delicate notes of violet and wild berries. On the palate, this medium-bodied red provides a sleek and focused structure with flavors of red plum and blackberry supported by firm, well-integrated tannins. The wine offers a refreshing brightness and a long finish that leaves a lingering impression of fruit and a subtle hint of minerality.
Founded in 1969, the estate began when Fiorella Lepri purchased the farm from the Florentine noblewoman Emma Bizzarri, a bold move she made to establish her own legacy in the heart of San Donato in Poggio. Today, the Bucalossi family manages the 28-hectare property with a commitment to organic viticulture and sustainability, even utilizing a flock of geese to manage vineyard pests and soil health. The vineyards are situated in a natural amphitheater at 430 meters above sea level, benefitting from a unique microclimate influenced by the nearby sea.
